On-Site Role: Fremont, CA
Schedule: Fri-Mon, 0000-0800 - 32 hours/week, Full Time

JOB SUMMARY:
As part of the Regional Security Services team, the Armed Protection Officer (APO) is responsible for the physical and personal security for members, staff, and visitors within the health care client facilities. This includes responding to emergency situations, preserving order, and enforcing regulations related to personnel, visitors, and premises. Protects staff and property from theft or damage, or persons from hazards and interference, including the potential for violence in the workplace. Locations:
Facility Safety & Incident Response
Respond to crimes in progress and take appropriate action on the exterior of the healthcare facility
Make private person arrests when necessary and within policy
Respond into healthcare facility interior for Code Gray responses
Lead de-escalation efforts
Provide a professional security presence
Act as a safety ambassador for the facility
Provide campus safety recommendations
Liaison with administrative and clinical leadership
Establish and maintain a good working relationship with local law enforcement
Prevention of Workplace Violence (PWV)
Serve as the facility subject matter expert on the Prevention of Workplace Violence
Respond to violent incidents of workplace violence
Stay current on training and trends in the PWV field
Threat Management
Lead and support threat management investigations
Mitigate potential threats through collaboration with key stakeholders and the Threat Management Team
Training
Provide Prevention of Workplace Violence training to staff
Train and evaluate new officers

HS Diploma or GED
Required Qualifications
Ability to pass physical aptitude test (PAT) which may include timed push-ups, sit-ups, physical agility assessment, and a life-sized dummy drag.
Valid Driver’s License
California Bureau of Security and Investigative Service (BSIS) Guard Card and Permit for Exposed Firearms
Possess and maintain proficiency with authorized firearms and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications at Entry:
Be 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.
Have a reliable and functional means of communication (i.e., cell phone)
The legal right to work in the United States
Possess a valid government-issued driver’s license or state-issued I.D.
An active state-issued guard card
Successfully pass the client’s pre-employment screening process (Drug Test, Health Screen, Criminal Background Check, Personality Inventory Assessment)
Ability to properly wear an N95 mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines while on-site.
