Staff Frontend and Full Stack Engineer

Our client is looking to fill the role of Senior Staff Frontend Full Stack Engineer. You must be local to the Bay Area and be on-site in office 3 days a week in the San Mateo, CA office. NO C2C or Contractors please.

Senior Staff Frontend and Full Stack Engineer (full-time)

Location: San Mateo, CA (Hybrid 3 days WFH, 2 days in office)

MUST be able to work in office 3 days a week

IDEAL Candidate: Currently living in the Bay Area

Compensation: 180k-220k base + Equity & Benefits

Reports to: CTO & CEO

Responsibilities:

Seed-stage software startup with tier 1 investors on a mission to transform the trillion dollar manufacturing industry

Clean slate products, minimal legacy code, high-leverage technical decisions

Fast pace, constantly shipping and iterating with users

Applied AI challenges (GPT, vision, reasoning)

Computational geometry challenges

Great coworkers (founders with domain expertise and a track record, and other senior engineers)

Small team means diverse tasks offering many learning opportunities

Required Qualifications:

6+ years of building for the web with a thorough understanding of backend (API design, databases, security), modern frontend (TS, React/Vue, SPA), and cloud/infra (scaling, reliability)

5+ years of experience in programming with Python and/or Node.js

Love for modern development practices (dev tooling, CI/CD, IaC, etc).

Experience with a multitude of languages, paradigms, and frameworks, and ability to learn new ones quickly.

A systematic and rational approach to technical decision-making.

Comfortable shaping the product in collaboration with adjacent roles (product, design/UX).

Strong sense of ownership, including troubleshooting production, talking to customers, etc.

Experience with SaaS products is a plus.
