Cybersecurity Analyst (Oil & Gas Sector)

Overview:

We are seeking a technically proficient Cybersecurity Analyst to establish and lead enterprise cybersecurity initiatives within a high-paced acquisition-driven energy organization. This individual will be instrumental in consolidating fragmented cyber processes and ensuring robust defense measures post-infrastructure mergers.

Location: Houston, TX - 5 days a week onsite

Contract: 6 months initial - possibility to extend

Key Responsibilities:

Lead cyber investigations, threat mitigation, and incident response.

Integrate logs across IT (e.g., networking) and OT (e.g., SCADA/process control) environments.

Strengthen endpoint and perimeter defense using Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike.

Oversee phishing campaigns and security awareness initiatives.

Collaborate with enterprise IT to align security protocols with evolving Azure architecture.

Required Skills & Experience:

Strong experience with Microsoft Azure security.

Proficiency in CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender, Exchange Online.

Hands-on expertise in log correlation and forensic analysis.

Background in cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals).

Proven experience in oil & gas, energy, or industrial IT environments.

Ability to thrive in on-site, high-urgency operational settings.
