Job Title: Technical Game Engineer/Developer
Location: Onsite in Sausalito, CA
Duration: 12 Months (will extend for another year)
Responsibilities
Working onsite in our Sausalito, CA location is required.
Partner with Technical Artists and Research Engineers to integrate high-end character models using state-of-the-art technologies into UE AR/VR experiences.
Work with the teams to evaluate and define the best 3D Realtime approaches and optimization practices.
Participate in ideation sessions with creative and technical peers to help plan and troubleshoot the design of prototype demo experiences.
Assist in the conception and development of the demo functionality.
Must-Have Skills
Some 3D Math fundamentals as applied to game logic and game mechanics.
UX Optimization Performance, Developing 3D core gameplay systems, and Gameplay controllers
C++ and Unreal Engine
Cross-functional and communication skills
Nice-to-Have Skills
C# (some required, but less of a priority than C++
Knowledge of Houdini and/or Maya is a plus, but not a must-have
UI Experience (Figma)
Required Experience:
Minimum 8+ years of Game development and/or AR/VR prototype experience.
You are an expert in game mechanics and UI systems, demonstrating high-end skillsets with level blueprint and real-time graphic optimization.
Experience with technical aspects of game design, such as coding C# or C++, 3D Math fundamentals as applied to game logic.
Experience with Unreal Engine 5 and Unity is required.
First-hand experience with industry Game production processes, and cross-disciplinary collaboration and communication.
Preferred Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Visualization, or Computer Animation, including coding and scripting in various languages
Previous experience in the creation of Games or interactive VR & AR experiences
Experience with real-time analytics tools/languages/processes and visual scripting is a plus.
Knowledge of Houdini and/or Maya is a plus.
