Controller

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial analysis, and management within the distribution or construction industries.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all accounting operations, including billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting and payroll.

Manage and lead the accounting team, including evaluating staffing needs, hiring, supervising, evaluating, and improving the Company’s Accounting Function.

Prepare and analyze financial statements and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and industry standards.

Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed in a timely manner and fully reconciled monthly.

Coordinate with external auditors for annual reviews/audits.

Manage relationships with vendors and clients.

Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Liaison with tax preparers for annual compliance reporting and quarterly payments.

Oversee and manage the ERP system to maximize system usage and productivity.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred

6+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards

Experience in the distribution, construction, or related industries

Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong leadership and communication abilities

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
