CRP Industries currently has an opportunity for a Controller who will be responsible for managing the accounting and finance functions of CRP. Ideal candidate will provide both management and stockholders with the information necessary to fulfill their responsibilities. Responsible for all financial reporting and controls of CRP and subsidiaries.

Essential Functions:

Take responsibility for the monthly closing process including company consolidation, production of monthly reports and analysis of actual financial result versus plan.

Continue to develop firm's financial policies, procedures and control measures to ensure that all financial results and key ratios are controlled, tracked, reported and analyzed in a timely manner, in accordance with company GAAP and financial guidelines.

Lead, mentor and develop department staff

Provide management with financial and operating information on a daily, weekly, monthly, or other basis, as needed, to ensure CRP's effective and efficient operation.

Manage accounting, bookkeeping, day to day finance, audit, tax, and treasury functions.

Manage and develop four direct reports.

Daily cash and loan monitoring with the Treasurer

Prepare monthly journal entries to close books

Ensure that monthly financial and management reports are produced, analyzed, and presented to management by the 10th of the following month

Prepare account analysis on monthly basis

Ensure that fixed assets sub ledger is properly maintained and reconciled

Manage and prepare annual budget preparation process

Preparation of quarterly financial packet for Board of Directors

Prepare covenant calculation and compliance data for banks

Prepare monthly metrics for management team

Assist in insurance activities as needed

Oversee subsidiary financial reporting process

Works with external auditors, consultants and regulators for audits and tax filings.

Optimize cash flow and provide oversight.

Confirms financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; preparing special reports.

Work with Operations to coordinate CRP’s physical inventory process. Reconcile results to general ledger.

Review the accounts receivable aging weekly with the credit manager.

Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.

Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls.

Avoids legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation; enforcing accounting regulations; recommending new procedures.

Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Additional Responsibilities:

Maintain a mindset of continuous improvement, in terms of efficiency of support processes, customer satisfaction and the application of tools for monitoring, management and optimization

Requirements:

Energetic, operationally oriented accounting professional with sense of urgency and strategic yet hands-on attitude. Must be strong in establishing internal controls and monitoring actual expenses to budget.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA, CMA and/or MBA preferred plus 7-10 years progressive accounting experience with most recent experience as Controller or Accounting Manager or any combination of education and experience.

Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

Excellent analytical and computer skills; highly proficient in Excel-based modeling.

Experience with ERP systems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills within and external to company.

German and/or Spanish language skills a plus, but not necessary.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Office environment. Daily use of wrists, hands, fingers, arms to use computer and phone. Ability to hear and speak clearly for gathering and giving simple to complex information to a group.

Ability to travel approximately 10% per year
