Summary:
We're hiring our first in-house accounting leader—a unique opportunity to build the financial function from the ground up. As Controller, you’ll be hands-on with day-to-day responsibilities like payroll, AP/AR, and commissions, while also stepping into a strategic seat at the table. You'll partner directly with the CEO and leadership team to create and manage company budget, refine financial systems and controls, and shape the financial roadmap that supports our continued growth. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is excited to roll up their sleeves and think big.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Input:
Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
Collaborate with executives on financial planning, risk management, and capital allocation.
Help create and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate organizational performance.
Financial Management:
Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
Manage cash flow, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
Accounting Operations:
Perform core accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets and improve efficiency.
Compliance and Audit:
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and filing requirements.
Coordinate and oversee internal and external audits.
Maintain compliance with financial laws and regulations.
Team Leadership:
Determine the structure for the finance/accounting team.
Recruit, train, and manage the accounting and finance team
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development within the department.
Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA designation preferred).
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management roles.
Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and tax regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
