Solution Architect – Payment Technology

Job Summary:

The Solution Architect will lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and sustainable solutions that meet our business goals dedicated to payment services. The role will bridge the gap between business requirements and technical implementation, working closely with stakeholders, engineers, and project teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Act as a key stakeholder to drive end-to-end technical solutions across the business from ideation through successful implementation

Partner with key business stakeholders to define high-level project scope and detailed requirements

Develop high-level architectural designs to illustrate key system components and integration points

Develop detailed technical designs based on business requirements

Assist in defining architectural patterns and technology standards to ensure scalability, reliability, and sustainability across enterprise systems

Provide technical direction to engineering teams, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and project goals

Conduct code and design reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables

Evaluate new technologies, tools, and frameworks to support evolving business needs, including third-party solutions

Assist in developing and maintaining an application roadmap that aligns with future business and technology goals

Identify and address technical risks and challenges during project execution

Provide guidance to resolve complex technical issues across systems and platforms

Facilitate and lead meetings with stakeholders, management, and external vendors to ensure alignment on project requirements, objectives, progress, and to support informed decision-making.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

3+ years of experience in software development, solution architecture, or a technical leadership role

Proven track record in designing and delivering enterprise-level solutions across multiple platforms related to payment-related services such as payment gateways, banking, and digital payment solutions (PayPal, GooglePay, ApplePay).

Experience with multiple retail sales channels including brick-and-mortar POS, e-commerce, and mobile

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions

Strong knowledge of APIs, integration patterns, and data modeling

Expertise in software architecture patterns (e.g., microservices, serverless, SOA) and design principles

Experience with EA tools and C4 modeling preferred

Experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud preferred

Proficient in visual design tools such as Visio or Lucidchart

Experience in retail systems preferred

Knowledge of AR, Accounting, or financial reconciliation systems preferred

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

Ability to lead and mentor technical and non-technical teams

Adaptability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Understanding of Waterfall, Agile and Scrum methodologies
