Position: Cable Technician

Duration: 18-month contract (possibility of perm)

Location: Lakeland, FL

Pay Range: $33/hr - $40/hr

Must-Haves:

Minimum of 2 years of Aerial Cable Installation with large construction projects ( ex. building out miles of cables on the street)

Minimum of 2 years' experience in bucket truck operation

Knowledge of all hardware, equipment, and tools involved in aerial cable installation

Ability to work safely and independently in a large construction environment

Florida Driver's License

High School Diploma or equivalent

Plusses:

Previous experience within a large telecom carrier

Splicing/testing skills with a fusion splicer preferred

Day-to-Day:

A client of Insight Global is looking to hire a Cable Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 1-2 years of aerial construction experience on large construction projects, preferably within a large telecom carrier.

Daily responsibilities include implementing fiber optic cable routes as they pertain to construction, installation, and splicing for network and customer work orders. Obtain material via provided work orders and purchase orders, follow detailed construction and/or splicing instructions and method of procedure for all installations and service affecting projects. Construct and/or configure the appropriate fiber facilities by following detailed work orders. Notify supervisor of low or inadequate fiber facilities via as-builts and make recommendations from on-site observations. Help to maintain fiber optic facility records by providing detailed updates after the work orders have been implemented.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
