We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior Global Quality Control Manager to lead our quality efforts across our contract manufacturing network in China, with a primary focus on consumer electronics, specifically car audio systems. This role ensures that our products not only meet industry standards but exceed customer expectations for performance, reliability, and safety.
You’ll be a key player in safeguarding our brand’s reputation by owning all aspects of supplier quality control, inspection protocols, and continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with internal teams and external manufacturing partners.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Quality Assurance Team
Manage a team of six QA professionals in our Shenzhen office, ensuring clear responsibilities, continuous development, and high performance across quality activities.
Develop & Implement Quality Strategy
Define and execute a robust quality strategy that aligns with company goals and covers all outsourced manufacturing partners.
Supplier & Manufacturing Oversight
Partner closely with contract manufacturers across China to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to specifications. Conduct routine supplier audits and quality reviews.
Inspection & Testing Protocols
Oversee and refine in-line and final inspection processes, with a focus on car audio product performance, including electrical, acoustic, and cosmetic standards.
Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions
Lead investigations into product issues or customer complaints. Identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Compliance & Regulatory Assurance
Ensure all products meet internal standards and comply with relevant international regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, CE, FCC, RoHS). Familiarity with automotive-grade quality standards is a plus.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate with internal teams (Engineering, Product, Customer Service, Supply Chain) to ensure feedback loops and continuous improvement efforts are in place.
Quality Metrics & Reporting
Track and analyze key quality KPIs, including defect rates, returns, and supplier performance. Provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership.
Training & Development
Build capability within the team and suppliers through ongoing training on inspection methods, standards, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field
7+ years of experience in quality control or quality assurance in the consumer electronics industry
Experience working with contract manufacturers in China is essential
Strong knowledge of car audio systems, components, testing methods, and industry standards (e.g., THD, SNR, impedance, thermal management)
Familiar with international quality standards and regulatory frameworks (ISO 9001, CE, FCC, RoHS)
Demonstrated experience with root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA, etc.)
Fluent in English; Mandarin proficiency is a strong advantage
Ability and willingness to travel extensively in China (up to 40%)
Preferred Skills:
Experience with automotive-grade quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949, AEC-Q100)
Six Sigma certification or Lean Manufacturing experience
Familiarity with firmware validation and electronic testing equipment
Excellent leadership, communication, and vendor negotiation skills
