About the Role: The Senior Accountant with assist in various functions in the Accounting Department which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations. They should be experienced in corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, as well as upholding internal control policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis.
Assist in establishing and maintaining internal controls.
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
Coordinate and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes with specific tasks including updating the workpapers.
Working in conjunction with the Assistant Controller, manage and assist with the preparation of regulatory reporting including annual and periodic reviews, audits, local, state, and federal government reporting requirements, and tax filings.
Assist in accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Participate in a wide variety of special projects (i.e., Commercial business profitability and Warehouse Sale).
Prepare and communicate Sales Representatives monthly commission payments.
Interact with multiple departments within the organization and ensure standard operating procedures and processes are followed and accurate information is shared.
Assist in Treasury Management including Wire and ACH payment input into banking platform.
Provide Accounts Payable and Receivable Support when necessary.
Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:
BS in Accounting required
5+ years of accounting experience, which includes Accounts Payable and Receivable
Proven track record in preparing account reconciliations and financial reporting
Strong knowledge of accounting, cost and inventory methodologies, and internal controls
Extensive experience with general ledger functions and month and year end close process
Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
Pro-active approach, can prioritize, and take ownership of work with little or no supervision.
Knowledge of information technology including software and hardware
Strong computer skills including Excel, expertise with ERP, business intelligence tools, and sales reporting systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
Versatile. Able to manage the demands from multiple projects and tasks
