Financial Controller

Our client is a seasoned industry player in the architecture, engineering, construction, and development industry. They are seeking a Financial Controller to oversee their accounting team, with a focus on their Construction unit of business. This role will require someone who is not only a talented accounting/finance person with industry experience, but someone who can lead a team and communicate effectively with employees in every level of the organization.

A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.

CPA qualification or working towards it; alternatively, an MBA in Accounting/Finance with proficiency in accounting principles and advanced technical skills, such as financial statement preparation and reporting, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

10 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role (e.g., Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller.)

Construction industry accounting experience is a must.

Prior experience working with Accounting/Job Costing/ERP Systems (Vista Viewpoint, Deltek Ajera, etc.)

Experience in managing payroll, with focus on streamlining accounting processes

Must be able to work and manage effectively in a team environment and set priorities to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects.

Ability to clearly communicate complex accounting and financial concepts to team members across various functions.

Ability to motivate and inspire direct staff and the management team to achieve financial and non-financial goals.
