Our reputation is built on delivering exceptional quality, attention to detail, and outstanding client service. We are seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join our growing team.
Position Overview:
The Assistant Project Manager will support the Project Manager and Superintendent in coordinating all aspects of project execution. This is an opportunity for a self-starter to gain exposure to all phases of the construction process, work closely with top-tier clients and design teams, and grow within an established and respected GC firm.
Responsibilities:
Assist in managing all phases of construction projects from pre-construction through close-out.
Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
Help maintain project schedules and ensure milestones are met.
Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and meeting minutes.
Participate in project meetings and provide accurate project updates.
Assist with procurement of materials and subcontractor services.
Maintain detailed project documentation, including budgets, schedules, drawings, and contracts.
Conduct site visits to assist in project oversight and quality control.
Support in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Help enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with DOB and OSHA requirements.
Qualifications:
2–5 years of experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or similar role within an interior construction/general contracting firm.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
Strong understanding of construction means and methods, building codes, and industry standards.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project) and construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).
Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
Ability to work in a fast-paced Manhattan environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
Familiarity with DOB permitting processes and NYC-specific construction practices is a plus.
