Position Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and supporting the overall financial health of the company. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and excellent organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping:
Maintain and update accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Ensure all financial transactions are properly documented, recorded, and filed.
Month-End and Year-End Closing:
Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, including reconciliations and preparation of financial statements.
Generate financial reports to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Collaborate with management to develop and monitor budgets.
Assist in financial forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
Tax Compliance:
Prepare and file state and federal tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax regulations.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the company.
Audit Support:
Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits.
Provide necessary documentation and support to ensure a smooth audit process.
Expense Management:
Monitor and control expenses to ensure they align with budgetary guidelines.
Analyze variances and recommend corrective actions as needed.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential areas for improvement.
Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.
Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:
Ensure compliance with all accounting standards, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Prepare and submit regulatory reports accurately and on time.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus.
Proven experience as an accountant, preferably in a corporate setting.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Self-starter who works well independently without supervision.
