TBG The Bachrach Group is partnered with one of the fastest-growing construction companies in the U.S. on their search for a SENIOR PROJECT ACCOUNTANT. This role offers a very robust salary and benefits package. At least 5 years of general accounting experience is required along with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. An active CPA license or parts completed is highly preferred as well as a background in construction, oilfield services, engineering or infrastructure management.

Job description and requirements:

Must have previous experience with construction accounting in a project-based work environment.

Project accounting, Percentage of Completion / Work in Progress reporting, inventory and cost accounting, expense reimbursement, fixed assets, prepaids and accruals.

Execution of all accounting functions related to month-end close activities, daily journal entries, maintenance of GL, financial statement preparation and analysis, inventory accounting, revenue accounting, management of project and service call billings, sales tax etc.

Maintain schedules for annual audits, roll-forwards, and other documents to be provided to external auditors.

Perform monthly variance analysis.

Assist with the preparation of financial reports / financial statements and tax requests on a quarterly and annual basis.

Monthly review of cash reconciliations, dividends, interests, general ledger and financial statements.

Posting of journal entries for unrealized gains and losses as well as reconciliations of realized gains monthly.

Analyze vendor contracts to ensure accurate accounting treatment.

Assist with budget and forecasting requests, monthly management reports, and ad hoc expense analysis for various business units.

Set-up new accounts in the general ledger

Minimum of 5 years' accounting experience within construction or engineering industry

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

Must have strong Excel skills as well as previous working knowledge of QuickBooks or NetSuite.

Experience with any ERP or systems implementation, including training.

Well organized, detail oriented, and a self-starter with an ability to work independently.
