Physical Security Engineer/Product Engineer
On behalf of our financial services client, Procom is searching for a Physical Security Engineer/Product Engineer for a contract role through April 2026. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Jacksonville, Florida office.
Job Description:
The Physical Security Engineer/Product Engineer will be part of the Physical Security Engineering (PSE) team, responsible for engineering physical security technologies. These technologies support the protection and monitoring of Client facilities globally, including data centers, headquarters, and banking branches. The role involves managing the technical product lifecycle and ensuring alignment with company's security standards.
Physical Security Engineer/Product Engineer - Responsibilities:
• Lead the technical product management of one or more physical security products
• Act as the main point of contact and subject matter expert for products such as Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion Detection Systems
• Liaise with stakeholders to manage the product lifecycle
• Determine and enforce the product road map, working with vendors to align with Client's vision
• Evaluate, test, and certify physical security technologies to Client’s standards
• Develop in-house solutions when commercial products are unavailable
• Provide 3rd level technical support to internal clients and businesses
• Write and publish designs, test results, and standards for a global audience
Physical Security Engineer/Product Engineer - Mandatory Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology Systems, or Information Security, or equivalent experience
• Up to five years or more experience in an engineering role
• Thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows and Unix
• Code development experience in .NET and SQL
• Good understanding of Information Security and industry best practices
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Strong technical writing skills
Physical Security Engineer/Product Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• CISSP or other security-related certifications
• Knowledge of PKI security concepts, Active Directory, and MS SQL
• Experience in building highly available infrastructures
• Proficient with MS Office applications
• Some experience in CCTV, Access Control, and Intrusion Detection systems
