About the Role

The manufacturing cost analyst position is accountable for the ongoing analysis of production and labor back to underlying activities. The manufacturing cost analyst must also construct and monitor those manufacturing data accumulation systems needed to provide an appropriate level of manufacturing information to management.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the monthly review of production activities including work order closures, standard and adjusting journal entries.

Estimating and analyzing all costs for a particular product, project or process.

Verify costs and prices associated with purchase orders.

Establishing all project estimates and analyzing line performance

Creation of all labor standards for all products.

Maintaining timely response and communication of all price requests.

Review estimates versus actual line performance information with the production department on a continuous basis.

Reviewing fixed costs on a continuous basis to maintain an acceptable level of profit margin.

Yearly review of product costs

Determine up charges when performing special tasks not including in a finished goods cost.

Review Engineering Change Requests (ECR’s) and costs associated with such changes; revise pricing as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and pull a minimum of 25 lbs.

Requires walking, standing and sitting for lengthy periods of time.

Certain areas require the use of safety equipment (i.e. safety glasses in the production/laboratory areas).

Requires bending, pulling, pushing, reaching above shoulder/ below waist levels and climbing of stairs.

Qualifications

Knowledge of basic manufacturing procedures

Advanced mathematical skills.

In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Strong cost accounting and finance aptitude.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Supply Chain or related field required.

1-2 years or more of experience in a manufacturing environment required.

Knowledge of computer applications (i.e. Microsoft Office).

Sage experience a plus.

Pay range and compensation package: 68,640K-80K yearly salary, 401k plan, medical, dental, etc.
