Position Title: SQL Data Cleanup Specialist

Position Status: 12-month contract with extensions

Schedule: HYBRID

Overview: Our client is looking for a SQL Data Cleanup Specialist for a HYBRID position based out of Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities:

Data Office team is seeking a skilled Structured Query Language (SQL) Data Cleanup Specialist to assist with cleansing and standardizing data across a large-scale SQL Server database

Assist with data cleanup related to the Data Quality Enhancement initiative and other development efforts as needed.

Maintain the confidentiality of all business data and adhere to data security policies.

Analyze and understand the structure and relationships within the database.

Write and execute SQL update and insert statements to clean and optimize data.

Utilize tools and techniques to automate and expedite the data cleansing process.

Collaborate with the data team to ensure data integrity and accuracy.

Document the data cleanup process and provide regular progress updates.

Special projects at the direction of the Chief Operating Officer or Data Officer. Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in SQL Server development, writing complex queries, data manipulation statements, stored procedures and tuning.

Knowledge of indexing, query optimization, transaction handling for efficient data updates.

Ability to analyze large datasets and pinpoint anomalies or inconsistencies.

Familiarity with data cleansing tools and techniques.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication skills to collaborate with the data team and other business units.
