Job Description:
The Office of the State Auditor of North Carolina is seeking a Database Administrator – Senior to manage and optimize its on-premise, hybrid, and cloud-based database infrastructure. This role will ensure secure, high-performance data systems supporting audit functions and agency operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Azure cloud platforms, strong scripting skills, and a deep understanding of database security and compliance requirements.
Specialty Areas:
• Cloud & Hybrid Database Management – Design, implement, and maintain relational and non-relational databases across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments.
• Performance Optimization & Security – Optimize query execution, indexing, and storage while enforcing robust database encryption and access control.
• Data Warehousing & ETL – Manage cloud-based data lakes and warehouses; support complex ETL processes.
• Automation & Scripting – Leverage tools like Terraform and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation and improved workflow efficiency.
• Cloud Platform Expertise – Focused experience with Microsoft Azure and familiarity with Databricks and AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service).
Responsibilities:
