District Manager (DM) is responsible for leading a team of Territory Managers to deliver profitable growth of and superior customer service to Institutional customers. The successful DM coaches and develops his/her team to ensure quality and safe work practices facilitating the establishment, growth, and retention of customer relationships driving enhanced margins for the division.
Responsibilities
Safety
Create a safety culture ensuring employees are properly trained in and follow all safety guidelines and incident reporting requirements
Act as a safety champion with Ecolab employees and customers
Business Planning & Review
Manage team to deliver district sales and profitability targets
Plan, monitor, and report district business results, growth opportunities and action plans to manager
Lead district deployment of divisional programs and initiatives
Collect and report market trends and business implications in district
Account Management & Customer Value Delivery
Ensure delivery of customer contracts through TM’s service performance
Lead team to optimise account profitability
Partner with team to lead periodic business reviews with identified customers
Support team in implementing proactive plans to retain customers-at-risk
Develop and maintain customer relationships at all levels
Coach team to merchandise value of product and service offerings through service reporting, business reviews, and utilisation of CSP training
Lead team efforts to identify, develop and implement solutions to improve results, customer service, and total cost
Talent Management & Development
Hire, lead, and develop team members to achieve individual performance, development, and division business objectives (e.g., sales, service, install, reporting)
Create collaborative team environment driving strong engagement
Make staffing/project decisions to improve skill level of the team
Account Prospecting – in conjunction with CAM
Gain new business through focused and targeted prospecting, industry networking, and partnership with internal sales and support teams
Manage customer proposal, trials, contract negotiations and deal closure processes in partnership with field and/or corporate accounts team
Maintain and drive action on prospect list for district
Required:
Adequate level of education
5+ years of sales, service, and business administration experience
Experience working with and knowledge of computers (e.g., MS Office suite)
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
Excellent organisation and follow-up skills
Ability to work independently, under pressure, and with little direction
Strong sales aptitude with ability to lead a team of sales professionals
Ability to succeed in a competitive environment
Driver’s license
Fluency in English
