HOMAGE Intern Program:
HOMAGE is looking for a highly motivated student or recent graduate to work as our summer Assortment Planning & Merchandising Intern. As an Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in analyzing product performance and sales trends, managing product lifecycles, and deep-diving sports and pop culture trends to drive growth and profitability. You will collaborate with key cross functional teams throughout the enterprise, developing a more comprehensive understanding of how various functions work together to drive results. This internship is a hybrid role out of our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio with the ability to work some days from home.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Assists the team in analyzing opportunities, risks, or other changes in trend that may influence future business decisions
Analyze the wider apparel market for opportunities, challenges and trends that may impact our business
Stay connected to events in sports and pop culture and use that knowledge to drive the HOMAGE product assortment
Partner with internal teams to understand merchandising impacts from marketing campaigns and other channel activities, ensuring alignment with wider company goals
Support licensing projections by tracking key metrics against licensing agreements, requirements, and forecasts
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Merchandise Strategy:
Become familiar with the HOMAGE assortment strategy to identify white space and opportunities to streamline our assortment, analyzing item productivity
Focus on the sports and pop culture landscape to stay ahead of player movement, league storylines and major moments (movie or TV releases, online discussion, etc)
Stay abreast of trends within the clothing industry and have a perspective on if they fit into the HOMAGE strategy (competitive shopping pricing, product offering, promotional campaigns)
Apply creative problem solving to adapt to strategy changes within tight deadlines
Licensing:
Help manage relationships with licensors, including keeping them updated on our launch calendar and sending linesheets, sales data and other information as requested
Assist in projecting future licensing sales/tracking performance against royalty agreements
Examine licensed property seasonality to understand sales peaks and inform marketing and product opportunities
Monitor sales performance by licensed property and collaborate internally on strategies to maximize visibility and impact
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with distribution and inventory management teams to align merchandise strategies with operational needs
Collaborate with marketing and web merchandising teams to coordinate product launches and seasonal campaigns
Partner with wholesale teams to ensure accurate plans and assess their contribution to licensing minimums
Connect with wholesale and design partners to fill assortment gaps with existing artwork or bench designs

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
A passion for apparel, sports and pop culture
Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Passion for creative problem-solving and a curiosity to explore beyond surface-level data
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite/Google Workspace and openness to learning new systems as needed
