MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Key objective is to plan, organize and execute high quality events while managing budgets, cross functional teams and logistics to ensure the events meet organizational goals and deliver a positive experience for attendees and stakeholders.

The job also entails the communications and activation support for the events in order to ensure consistent, timely and successful implementation of marketing initiatives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Communications and Events Project Briefs

· Initiates discussion with stakeholders for alignment and full under-standing of requirements

· Once aligned, schedules external agency briefing and/or internal creative content team (where relevant)

Development of events & communications requirements

· Coordinates requirements with relevant parties (internal BM&C creatives, event agency/vendors, and procurement) from pitch (where relevant) to final output

· Review/QA of content based on agreed brief, edits/refines as needed.

Secures approval/sign-offs from relevant approvers

· Ensures brand, event and safety guidelines are adhered to

· Expense/budget management

· Printing/delivery, and deployment of all materials within the prescribed timeframes

Execution of event communications plans/strategies *

· Works with stakeholder for clear understanding of event plans and activities

· Provides best options to stakeholder for event activities (integrated comms approach including publicity for event where applicable)

· Coordinates with relevant parties (3rd party event agencies, PR & Comms, Social Media, Digital, etc) for integrated comms plan when relevant

· Ensures quality and timely execution of pre, proper and post event activity requirements

· Properly calendars all event activities for maximum gains / benefits

· Expense/budget management

· Manage event risk and issues to mitigate potential risks and address any issues that arise pre, during, and post event.

Coordinates and manages category events and requirements

· Monitors and analyses performance of events, recommends improvements to, and prepares post-evaluation documentation

Build and maintain relationships

· Foster relationships with Retail Distribution Clients, vendors and other stakeholders

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Business Administration or a related field

· Extensive experience in the following skills:

o strong management skills and strategic thinking capabilities;

o project management;

o event management;

o strategic communication planning;

o superior interpersonal & communication skills;

· Ability to set long term strategy and vision independently, and lead execution.

· Evaluate impact on strategic marketing communication planning objectives and strategies.

· Develop methods to track effectiveness of implemented programs.

· Monitor performance and cost effectiveness of outside vendors and freelance contractors.

· Demonstrate ability to collaborate well within the organization (locally, regionally and globally).

· Diplomatic, culturally sensitive and able to express a global outlook

· Strong written & oral abilities / skills

· Curiosity to learn about the business/business oriented

· Strong decision-making and problem solving skills ; with sense of urgency & orientation for deadlines; ability to successfully manage multiple tasks

· Demonstrates attention to detail / organization skills. Strong proofreading skills to ensure all materials are high quality and accurate.

· 5+ years of experience in a similar role in insurance or financial services in-dustry (preferred but not mandatory) Strong experience in brand management

· Minimum 3 years’ experience in supervisory role

· Excellent writing and communication skills
