System Administrator

Our Client is look for a System Administrator in the Metro Detroit area

Overview

We are looking for a skilled Systems Administrator to support and enhance our IT infrastructure, focusing on high availability, resiliency, and secure system performance. You will work closely with a collaborative IT team, contributing to the maintenance, optimization, and reliability of enterprise systems and applications.

This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges, supporting critical business applications, and maintaining system uptime across on-premises and hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions for critical applications

Support and optimize enterprise infrastructure, including Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and DNS/DHCP services

Collaborate with IT staff to ensure seamless integration of system and application components within a virtualized environment

Configure and manage SQL Server high availability features (e.g., Failover Clustering, Always On Availability Groups)

Support backup and disaster recovery platforms such as Veeam, Datto, or cloud-native solutions

Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues across servers, applications, and network systems

Maintain up-to-date documentation of systems architecture, processes, and failover procedures

Participate in on-call rotation and provide general IT infrastructure support as needed

Qualifications

Associate s or Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

2+ years of experience in systems administration or a related role

Experience managing virtualized environments (VMware ESXi/vCenter preferred)

Proficiency with SAN/NAS storage solutions and their configurations

Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, including AD, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP

Understanding of high availability and disaster recovery best practices

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS

Experience with backup and recovery tools and strategies

Working knowledge of load balancing, virtual IP failover, and security infrastructure (VPN, NAC, firewalls)

Exposure to ERP platforms such as Prophet 21 is a plus
