VetPride Services is seeking a Valet Parking Supervisor in support of valet operations at the Columbus VA Medical Center. We provide a free vehicle parking and retrieval program at the VA Medical Center for Military Veteran patients. VetPride Services gives preference on hiring Veterans and Military personnel.
Shift: FT, Monday-Friday: 7:00am-3:30pm
Location: Columbus VA Medical Center, 420 N. James Rd, Columbus, OH 43219
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Manage valet team of 6-8 valet attendants.
Properly schedule valet team to stay within contracted hours on weekly basis.
Uphold high standards of employees on site.
Assist in hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions of employees.
Work closely with Regional Manager.
Greet all valet customers in a professional manner upon their arrival, open doors, assist customer as needed with wheelchair or walker. Always be helpful and give directions as needed.
Perform access control responsibilities for the valet area.
Drive various types of vehicles to and from specific location in valet parking lot in a safe manner.
Closely inspect all vehicles for any damage and record any findings on valet ticket.
Secure all vehicles by locking car and return valet key tag and keys to valet podium box.
Follow safe driving procedures and safety protocol at all times.
Abide by all rules and regulations set by the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
All valet attendants will be required to report to work in company issued uniform, and professional personal hygiene and appearance is expected at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills
Valet experience preferred, but not required.
Must have 1+ years management experience.
Must be able to work 40 hours a week M-F.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Applicant must have the ability to drive vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions.
Possess and maintain a valid state issued driver license.
Must pass and maintain a criminal background check and have a clean motor vehicle record.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Regularly work outdoors in inclement weather including rain, snow, heat and cold.
Strong customer service skill and be able to respond calmly and professionally when handling conflict.
Consistent attendance and reliability is a requirement.
Ability to understand and speak basic English in order to communicate with valet customers and co-workers.
Regularly stand for long periods (6-8 hours) and walk quickly.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Must have the ability to work independently and within established guidelines, follow directions, and work well with others.
Technical capabilities and basic computer knowledge. Experience Requirements
1-year management experience.
1-year experience driving manual and automatic transmissions.
