Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a self-motivated, reliable early riser golf groundskeeper to join our team at Saratoga Hot Springs Resort. The Golf Course Groundskeeping Crew is required to be able to complete a large variety of tasks throughout the day generally categorized as manual labor and are related to landscaping. This can include operating different types of walking lawn mowers, raking of debris, use of string trimmers, operation of powered debris blowers, use of chainsaw and operation of other motorized equipment. Tasks specific to golf course maintenance include raking bunkers, mowing greens, changing hole locations, pulling weeds, hand watering, blowing debris, filling ball washers, moving tee markers, etc. Groundskeepers must have a valid driver license and be able to drive various types of golf carts and utility vehicles in order to complete the above tasks. In addition, Groundskeepers are often called upon to complete or assist in all tasks on the course including: special projects, irrigation repair, fertilizer and chemical applications, and other general maintenance tasks. Groundskeepers primarily work under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent.

Starting wage is $10/hour or depending on experience with a potential wage increase after 90days. Seasonal positions is typically six months starting around April and ending around October, weather pending. Schedule is 6am - 2pm Monday through Friday, and working every third weekend.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Requires a clean driving record.

Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time.

Requires the ability to bend, and twist to perform normal job functions.

Requires the ability to lift and maneuver items weighing 80lbs.

Requires the ability to be exposed to various climates from extreme heat to extreme cold.

Requires the ability to operate equipment that requires continual and repetitive hand and arm motions.

Background check and drug testing may be required.

2. Ability to read and respond to phone calls, and other forms of correspondence in timely manner.

3. Maintain and develop a safe, clean, sanitary workplace, and require the same high standards from staff in their personal behavior and job performance to support.
