The role
This role is focused on leading a team of engineers responsible for our B2B business channel called SoFi At Work. The goal of this platform is to provide new ways for our partners to help their employees get their money right across every life stage. Our mission is to help our members find their path to financial independence by providing them with the tools, resources, and guidance they need to get there.
We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Front-End Software Engineer to join our team in expanding our financial wellness business. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating user-friendly, performant, and scalable web applications. As a Senior Front-End Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing front-end solutions that enhance the user experience and drive the success of our financial wellness platform.
Key responsibilities
Use React/HTML/CSS/JavaScript to turn designs into performant and maintainable user interfaces
Lead the development and testing of system components/services, code and design reviews
Manage projects and deliverables, and design, deploy and improve database solutions.
Take initiative and produce timely results in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment
Participate in shaping the technical architecture of the product
Help translate user stories into technical solutions
Deliver highly available and scalable services in a production environment
Mentor other engineers, support the technical culture, and help grow the team
Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies
Communicate with project leads, product managers, and other software developers
Consistently demonstrate extremely high levels of technical knowledge, ingenuity, and creativity. Develops and applies advanced technologies, engineering principles, theories, and concepts. Broad knowledge about the design and operation of systems outside of a specialty.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in a technical field, but we understand great engineers come from all sorts of different backgrounds and also consider relevant work experience
5+ years related experience or demonstrated equivalent
Experience with React
Experience with modern JavaScript libraries and tooling
Strong knowledge of semantic HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Effective communication skills
Familiarity with responsive design/development and mobile-web best practices.
Willingness to roll up your sleeves, collaborate with others, and get stuff done
Strong sense of responsibility; driving a project from inception to completion
Experience working in a collaborative coding environment (and git specifically), refining designs together, working through code reviews, and managing pull requests
Bonus: Experience working with Redux, TypeScript, and working on large-scale applications
Nice To Have
Full-stack engineering experience, or a willingness and passion to broaden your technical skill set
Expertise with Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, Spring Boot, AWS, CI/CD.
Fintech/finance experience
Experience working in customer-facing websites

The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
