Family Services Specialist III - H14C

This position is based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

This position will be responsible for driving a mobile office (bus) to communities across the state to provide OKDHS services.

Travel is Extensive- Must possess a Class A or B with Air Brake and Passenger Endorsements driver's license and maintain required car insurance.

Hours for this position are: Monday through Thursday 7:00 am - 7:00 pm (10 hour days)

Annual Salary: $44,272.80/Annually + Full State Employee Benefits

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience requirements consist of:

a master’s degree

or a bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of experience in professional social work

I have a Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of experience in professional social work

or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one (1) year of experience in professional social work for each year of the bachelor’s degree

or three (3) years of experience as a Family Services Specialist

GENERAL FUNCTION

This position is assigned to the Mobile Offices and is responsible for providing social services to children and adults in communities on the Mobile Offices. Duties include evaluating needs, assisting clients through problem resolution, making referrals to other service organizations, and completing eligibility determinations for various social service and assistance programs. Providing guidance and assistance regarding laws, policies, and procedures related to social safety net programs.

Job Responsibilities

Drive bus to assigned locations across the state each workday.

Evaluate the needs of individuals and families to obtain information for processing and completing eligibility determinations within established rules and guidelines; and complete necessary case documentation.

Participates in staff conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings for the purpose of determining successful pathways for client success in reaching their individual goals and achieving self-sufficiency.

Establish, engage, and grow positive and effective community partnerships with interested members of the public, service providers and vendors in a supportive and teamwork-oriented professional manner; works effectively with partners to serve shared customers while maintaining confidentiality.

Ability to work on a diverse team and directly with people from diverse backgrounds specifically racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and disabilities.

Preference may be given to a candidate who is bilingual.
