Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.** * * RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated * * Department: Med / Tele Swing Unit *Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS* - # of Beds: 10 - Nurse:Patient Ratios: Typically 1:3-4 - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Adults and geriatrics, occasional peds, All-Majority of Census is Swing bed needing Iv abx, therapy or wound care. Medical patients vary : Diabetic, pancreatitis, pneumonia, etc - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:8 - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 0630-1900, 1830-0700 // Self scheduling with manager approving - Weekend Requirements: At least every 3rd, at times every other - Holiday Requirements: Rotation per unit needs - Floating Requirements: Can float to ED to be back up help if volumes surg - Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs Provided?: Navy Blue - How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 2 days - Additional Notes: Attributes that help a nurse be successful in this department include: willingness to jump in and help wherever needed- we are a small team and that is a game changer for teamwork approach. Best thing about working in this department are the family feel and the great teamwork culture not only on the unit, but among ancillary depts as well. Radius Rule: 50 miles. RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
