Description:

We are currently looking for an experienced Legal Word Processing Operator to join our Washington, DC office.

The ideal candidate will have 3â 4 years of hands-on word processing experience, preferably within a legal or professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately type, transcribe, revise, and proofread various legal documents and materials.

Review and proofread all completed work to ensure documents are free of typographical and formatting errors.

Manage workload efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards for quality and accuracy.

Notify attorneys in advance if deadlines cannot be met, providing realistic estimates for completion.

Accurately log incoming projects, record time for billing purposes, and track hours worked each day.

Assist with maintaining inventory and ensuring supplies in the Center are adequately stocked.

Learn and adapt to new software, equipment, and firm-provided tools; share useful tips or features with team members.

Provide basic technical support and troubleshooting for colleagues on network applications.

Respond to phone calls, provide updates on project status, and assist with basic software-related inquiries.

Support general administrative duties, particularly during evenings or weekends, including faxing, message-taking, paging, photocopying, and document delivery when necessary.

Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the department.

Be comfortable working in a shared workspace ("Center" environment), including the shared use of workstations, equipment, and supplies. Collaboration and a team-oriented mindset are essential.

Adhere to all firm and departmental policies and standard operating procedures.
