Responsibilities:
Oversee the recruitment, development, and retention of qualified staff to ensure the effective operation of the organization.
Develop strategic plans that align with the organization's mission, vision, and goals. Ensure effective implementation of these plans.
Manage the financial health of the organization, including budgeting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Develop and recommend to the Board of Directors specific, written, long and short-range plans for the direction and development of the agencyâ s programs and services; maintains appropriate relations with the board and various board committees and keeps them informed.
Build and maintain strong relationships with the community, stakeholders, and donors to garner support for the organization's mission.
Serve as the public face of the organization, representing various forums, including media, community events, and public speaking engagements.
Ensure that the services provided to clients are of the highest quality and align with the mission of the organization.
Collaborate with other states and local agencies and organizations to enhance service delivery and address the needs of survivors on a broader scale.
Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the organization, including the implementation of policies and procedures. Interprets trends in the field(s) of service in which the agency is engaged by maintaining involvement in the professional fields as a whole.
Requirements:
Bachelorâ s degree required; an advanced degree or equivalent leadership experience in human services, organizational leadership, or a related field is strongly preferred
At least 10 years of progressive executive leadership experience, ideally within a mission-driven or nonprofit environment
Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and a demonstrated commitment to serving vulnerable populations.
Proven experience leading mission-driven organizations focused on crisis intervention, advocacy, or direct human services.
Experience in fundraising, including grant writing, donor cultivation, and developing strategies to engage and retain donors.
Demonstrated success in strategic planning, goal-setting, and organizational execution
Strong financial acumen, including oversight of budgets, forecasting, and financial compliance
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, inspire, and build trust across diverse audiences
Adept at developing and nurturing relationships with internal teams, external partners, and key community stakeholders
Skilled public speaker with comfort representing an organization in both formal and informal settings
Proven experience working closely with a Board of Directors and managing board relationships, planning cycles, and governance processes
