Surgery Scheduler, Orthopedic

Harrison County Hospital is seeking to hire an Surgery Scheduler.

nThe Surgery Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures, verifying insurance benefits, and obtaining prior authorizations for procedures and diagnostic testing.

This role serves as a liaison between physicians, patients, hospital departments, and insurance companies to ensure seamless care coordination and billing compliance.nEDUCATION/EXPERIENCEnnHigh school diploma or equivalent required.nMinimum of 2 years' experience in medical scheduling, preferably in surgical services .nPrior experience with insurance verification and authorization processes is strongly preferred.nMedical experience preferrednnSKILLSnnStrong knowledge of medical terminology, especially orthopedic and surgical procedures.nProficiency in EHR systems and scheduling software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, athenahealth).nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.nAbility to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.nnAs an affiliate of Norton® Healthcare, we enjoy the best of both worlds – access to all the resources of the largest health system in Louisville, while retaining local ownership and leadership in daily operations.nHarrison County Hospital has continuously served the people of Harrison County since 1950.
