Join our healthcare team as a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Portsmouth, VA. This role is perfect for experienced nurses looking to work in a pulmonary telemetry stepdown unit, providing specialized care for patients needing more attention than a standard medical/telemetry unit but less than intensive care. Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend and holiday

Estimated Weekly Salary: $1780 - $1910

Start Date: May 5, 2025 Job Requirements

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia or compact license

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

National Institute of Health (NIH) Stroke Certification

Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in healthcare jobs

Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide provided)

No local candidates accepted (within 50 miles of the facility) Responsibilities

Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments and create care plans

Administer medications safely and in accordance with policies

Coordinate patient care across hospital departments

Act as a patient safety advocate and participate in quality improvement initiatives

Manage patients with multi-system organ failure and/or multisystem trauma

Utilize the AACN Synergy Model to maintain patient stability

Respond to rapidly changing patient conditions with confidence

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic care
