Position Summary:
A Utility Associate assists in a Community’s Dining Services areas completing cleaning tasks, washing dishes, and cleaning equipment as necessary to comply with applicable Community standards and sanitation requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities: 1. cleans and sanitizes Dining Services equipment; 2. washes dishware, pots, pans, glassware, utensils and other cookware and service items; 3. ensures that appropriate chemicals are properly utilized to attain sanitization requirements; 4. assists Community Cooks in inventorying deliveries made to a Community’s Dining Services area/s; 5. ensures that Community cleanliness standards and governmentally imposed sanitation requirements are met in all areas of a Community’s food preparation and serving facilities, including storage areas, coolers, and freezers; and 6. assists with a Community’s refuse disposal and recycling activities.Requirements:
Qualifications:
1. Required: a Utility Associate must: a) be at least 18 years of age; b) have earned a high-school diploma or equivalent; c) have general knowledge of: (i) have general knowledge of the operation of their Community’s kitchen equipment; (ii) sanitation guidelines and governmental regulations applicable to food handling and storage; and (iii) kitchen safety protocol; d) have all required Servsafe certifications.
2. must be able to safely adapt to temperature variations in the Community’s cooking and food storage areas; 3. must maintain mental alertness, attention, and concentration for prolonged periods; 4. must be able to maintain moderate physical activity for an entire shift, occasionally handling objects up to 50 pounds and frequently handling objects up to 20 pounds; 5. must have the ability to talk, hear, sit, use hands and fingers, handle/feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms
