Job Title: Laborer

Type: Full-Time, Benefit Eligible

Company: Layton Services (Located in Newark, OH)

Job Location: Central Ohio Projects

Typical Pay Range: $18 - $25 /per Hour

As a Laborer at Layton Services, your role will assist with various tasks on construction sites. No prior experience is required, but basic knowledge of construction a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Works with a team

Assists skilled workers as assigned

Prepare trenches by digging, grading and compacting as needed

Help install trench shoring, safety equipment, and follow all safety protocols

Use hand and power tools, such as shovels, rakes, tampers and saws

Load, unload and transport materials around the job site

Assist with pipe alignment, bedding and sealing

Maintain a clean and organized job site

Sets safety example by following proper OSHA guidelines at all times

Perform general labor and all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of construction a plus but not necessary

Valid Driver's License or State ID

Knowledge of basic tools and equipment used in construction

Willingness to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions

Ability to work in trenches and confined spaces

Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions

Certifications (can be obtained once hired): OSHA 10
