Job Description
The VP of Operations holds leadership oversight for all Manufacturing Operations and support functions and meeting of objectives including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and team member engagement. As a member of the Executive Management Team, you will have direct reports including: VP of Operational Excellence and Senior Directors of Operations.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manufacturing Responsibilities:
· Maintain and continuously improve high standards of manufacturing operations, product quality, delivery, safety and cost
· Maintain a safe and organized work environment
· Work with Engineering, Sales and Marketing, and Risk Management and Warranty departments to ensure coordination of manufacturing activities
· Evaluate and match production capacity to customer demand (Sales & Operations Planning process)
· Hiring, training and evaluation of department staff as well as developing and implementing team member training programs
· Promote high levels of team member engagement and constantly improve morale and working conditions
· Develop and retain strong manufacturing and operational excellence leadership teams.
· Meet budgetary commitments
· Lead manufacturing strategic planning
Operational Excellence Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement new automation and oversee project management, including capital projects
· Plant facilities and facilities layout management including managing inbound and outbound logistics and manage corporate materials group to meet inventory turn and inventory accuracy improvement goals
· Constantly evaluate and develop maintenance team skills
· Oversee the development and continuous improvement of Quality programs to include Standard Work/Work Instructions, Supplier Quality, Zero Defect Manufacturing, and Warranty resolutions
· Establish continuous improvement and production strategies that support the manufacturing strategic plan
· Work across all functions to create and drive a world class safety culture, strong delivery (on time to customer request & past due) improvement, cycle time and inventory reductions, improved quality and year-over-year cost productivity
· Implement strategies to improve the predictability of core processes - partner with Sourcing, Materials, Planning and others to ensure one-piece flow
· Establish a culture of accountability throughout the organization by facilitating an effective goal deployment that aligns with corporate goals
· Integrate Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing tools to consistently improve flow, reduce waste and drive productivity
EXPERTISE REQUIRED:
Senior Manufacturing or Manufacturing Executive with 15+ years of management experience for multiple sites
Proven experience in manufacturing, assembly, supply chain. operations, Lean, P&L, and first-rate leadership skills
BA/BS in industrial, mechanical or business administration, or a 4-year technical degree in a related discipline
Excellent safety record
Experience with HR related subjects
Ability to work with a diverse team of professionals
Willingness to travel domestically
