Job Description

Salary: $12-$25 per hour

BIG COUNTRY TITLE seeks a full-time Accountant with four (4) years of experience and strong accounting skills. The Accountant will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all general accounting tasks such as A/R, A/P, GL, and Financial Reporting. The Accountant must have a strong understanding of GAAP standards and excel in applying those standards to a variety of topics. Further responsibilities include creating and producing various reports, tracking operational metrics and KPIs, performing general account reconciliations, three-way escrow account reconciliations, and assisting with all facets of the monthly and year-end closing process. This position is charged with analyzing and strengthening document process flows; analyzing and reporting of financial performance to advise financial strategy; and completing reporting requirements for the company.

The Accountant will work closely with other departments on cross-functional projects and is expected to have good organizational and interpersonal skills. S/he will work directly with the CEO to assist in producing a variety of weekly and monthly reports to the management team.

This position is best suited for someone who has a familiarity with accounting software/programs (i.e. QuickBooks) and an understanding of accounting terminology, procedures, and processes.

S/He must recognize the importance of maintaining privacy and confidentiality of company information, as well as that of customers and co-workers, especially pertaining to payroll and other accounts. Our Accountant must be attentive to details, possess strong critical thinking skills, take initiative on tasks, and be dependable to perform professional and quality work.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

3-5 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or Financial Analyst.

General understanding of GAAP.

QuickBooks experience, highly preferred.

Intermediate or better experience with Excel.

Authorization to work in the U.S.
