Utility-Scale Solar Engineering Manager
Location: Flexible (Remote/Hybrid) – Requires 1 week per month of travel

About the Role:
We are seeking a Utility-Scale Solar Technical Engineering Manager to lead the engineering efforts on large-scale renewable energy projects. This role will provide technical expertise in solar PV, energy modeling, and electrical system design while mentoring junior engineers and driving projects from early-stage development through Issued for Construction (IFC). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, PVsyst analysis, and BESS integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead engineering efforts for utility-scale solar and storage projects from feasibility through construction.
Review and optimize electrical schematics (AC/DC), layouts, and system designs.
Conduct energy modeling and performance analysis using PVsyst and other relevant tools.
Oversee and coordinate interconnection studies, permitting, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering team development.
Collaborate with project managers, developers, and construction teams to ensure project success.
Drive LEAN processes and innovation in system design to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Support BESS integration efforts and ensure compatibility with solar PV systems.
Travel one week per month to project sites or company offices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in renewable energy engineering with a focus on utility-scale solar (1MW-10MW+).
Strong knowledge of PV system design, energy modeling (PVsyst), and electrical schematics.
Experience managing projects from early-stage (10%) through IFC.
AC/DC electrical engineering expertise, including power systems and interconnections.
Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
Strong understanding of BESS systems (preferred but not required).
Familiarity with industry codes, permitting processes, and grid interconnection requirements.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
