Front-of-House Manager
Department: Cafe
Reports to: Executive Chef
Pay Grade: 10-E Manager/Mid-Level Support
Pay Range: $48,000 - $54,000/year
Job Summary: Thistle Farms is a nonprofit social enterprise dedicated to helping women survivors recover and heal from prostitution, trafficking, and addiction. We do this by providing a safe place to live, meaningful jobs, and a lifelong sisterhood of support.
The Front-of-House Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day front-of-house operations, supervising staff, maintaining service excellence, and supporting the mission of Thistle Farms.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly manages all front-of-house employees
Handles accountability of front-of-house employees in accordance with company policy.
Creates weekly staff and volunteer schedule
Manages time-off requests
Duties/Responsibilities:
Oversee daily front-of-house operations, ensuring smooth service and a welcoming atmosphere.
Train, mentor, and manage front-of-house employees, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
Oversee beverage menu development
Develop and implement service standards to enhance the customer experience.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a professional manner.
Monitor beverage and paper goods inventory and work closely with the kitchen team for seamless order coordination.
Assist events department with staffing and other needs
Collaborate with the leadership team to align cafe operations with the broader mission of Thistle Farms.
Regularly measure and evaluate customer service by using various feedback tools that will help ensure continuous service improvement
Maintain financial accountability by overseeing cash handling, sales reports, and budgeting efforts.
Oversee Square POS and third-party ordering platforms to ensure all items are correct, up-to-date, and operating efficiently.
Check phone messages daily and provide timely response to messages.

Qualifications
Required Skills/Qualifications
3-5 years of leadership experience in a cafe, restaurant, or hospitality management role.
Strong leadership and team-building skills with a passion for mentorship.
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with POS systems and basic financial management.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Commitment to the mission and values of Thistle Farms.
Thorough knowledge of food, beverage, retail, and event industry standards and trends
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Physical Requirements:
Typical work week- 40 hours/week
Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting 25 lbs or more, and repetitive hand/wrist motion
Work with hot, cold and hazardous equipment as well as operate phones, copiers, computers, Point-of-Sale, and other office equipment
