Electrical Project Engineer

Job Description

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for providing quotations and supporting calculations for Electrical/Controls modernization projects, for Schuler and Non Schuler products, in a timely manner, including the compilation of the scope of work, associated costs and lead-times.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Receive RFQ from regional sales team and review.

Discusses project scope with the Regional Sales Manager and customer if necessary, to ensure a complete understanding of the scope of work.

Visit customer with Regional Sales Manager to review site and discuss RFQ when necessary.

Propose and present alternative solutions, if appropriate, and agree scope of work to be quoted.

For budgetary quotations review historical database and identify prior quotes that can be used for reference.

Discuss and agree sourcing strategy for SOW with Director of Service Sales

Develop technical solution in line with customers RFQ, with input from Engineering, Field service, Affiliates and Suppliers.

Review electrical circuit diagrams and BOM’s to identify components to be replaced or upgraded.

Write technical description for quotation that satisfies customers RFQ and all local regulations, and clearly describes our scope of supply.

Provide calculation, timing plan and manpower estimate with input from Engineering, Field service, Affiliates, Purchasing and Project Management.

Reviews the quotation and project calculation with the Director of Service Sales and agree quoted price.

Ensure that the signature rights policy is followed prior to release of quotation for approval.

Support regional sales manager in presenting the quotation to the customer including customer visits where necessary.

Support regional sales manager with technical presentations on Schuler service products.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

Minimum of 5 years experience as an Electrical/Controls Engineer with a Press Manufacturer or Press service company.

SAP Experience would be an advantage

Proficient user of Microsoft Office

Possess strong analytical aptitude.

Possess strong technical report writing skills

Strong time management and organizational skills

Ability to multi-task and to work in dynamic business environment; Adaptable to change

Self-motivated and results oriented; Ability to use judgement and make decisions independently.

Teamwork oriented to resolve problems and achieve goals

Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills

Fluent in English with advanced reading and writing skills

German and/or Portuguese Language skills would be a plus.

Visa holders/English as Second Language (ESL) individuals must take TOEFL exam and score above passing grade.
