We are looking for an ambitious, results-driven Vice President of Sales to lead Tangent’s commercial growth strategy and drive nationwide sales expansion. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for a passionate leader who thrives on winning in the field, opening doors, and building high-performing teams.
The VP of Sales will be expected to travel across the U.S., engaging directly with customers, prospects, and partners to build relationships, identify opportunities, and close deals. This is a role for someone who isn’t content behind a desk—you’re energized by being on the road, walking job sites, meeting with builders, sitting across the table from OEM decision-makers, and unlocking growth at the ground level.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and lead a national sales strategy focused on aggressive customer acquisition and revenue growth
Personally identify and pursue new channel opportunities across OEMs, builders, distributors, installers, and national accounts
Build, develop, and lead a geographically dispersed, high-performance sales team
Drive sales initiatives that target large strategic accounts and expand our presence with national retailers
Align closely with Product, Marketing, and Operations to ensure readiness to support scale and innovation
Develop KPIs and leverage CRM and sales analytics to foster a data-driven, accountable sales culture
Serve as the face of the organization in key customer relationships and major negotiations
Represent Tangent at trade shows, industry events, and customer locations across the country
Qualifications:
15+ years of progressive commercial leadership experience in building products or related industries
Demonstrated success driving national sales growth across multi-channel environments (OEM, big box, distribution, installer, etc.)
Proven experience building and scaling a commercial organization in a high-growth, entrepreneurial setting
Strong hunter instincts—able to identify white space, penetrate new accounts, and close large deals
Comfort and enthusiasm for extensive national travel (50%+) to connect directly with customers and the field
Experience selling into national retail accounts and managing large-scale partnerships
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
