Summary

The Supervisor - Vehicle Logistics Procurement (Port Operations) position will oversee and manage procurement activities related to port operations while supporting all business departments. This position requires a strong background in procurement processes, contract management, negotiations, and the implementation of procurement strategies. They will also be responsible for supervising procurement staff, ensuring efficient sourcing, aligning procurement processes across internal departments, and leading inter-departmental projects. The Supervisor - Vehicle Logistics Procurement (Port Operations) position will review vendor rates and services, conducting market studies and supporting supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

Management and leadership over all department related to procurement with external supply chain and its processes:

Vendor Management: Conduct negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and terms; maintain strong relationships with vendors and manage contract negotiations

Contract Management: Proactive management of development, implementation, and monitor procurement contracts to ensure compliance and performance standards are met

Inter-Department Projects: Lead and participate in cross-functional projects, ensuring procurement strategies and resources are integrated across business operations

Approvals and Reports: Coordinate with Business Development, Sales, Finance, Legal, internal consumers, and GLOVIS leadership to execute Contract approvals

Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve procurement processes to drive efficiency, streamline operations, and reduce costs; lead cost efficiencies and cost optimization projects

Strategy and Sourcing: Oversee the efficient sourcing and procurement of goods, services for port operations, ensuring alignment with business needs and objectives; oversee categories of procurement activities to maintain continuity of supply for current and future business needs

Provide market study insights and trends for related business and for required/potential outsourced categories of spend:

Budget and Vendor Evaluation: Oversee procurement budgets, ensuring expenditures stay within financial limits while identifying cost-saving opportunities

Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements; provide regular procurement reports and updates to senior management

Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuous supply chain efficiency and reliability

Market studies /RFx/Proposal, and vendor evaluation: Conduct market research, oversee processing for demand in defining scope, definitions, bidder identification, critical timelines; process and monitor vendor evaluations to ensure procurement decisions are based on most accurate and up-to-date information

Support business development and support:

Drive increased Procurement planning, control and accountability with the business groups

Support the Procurement organization as needed and support management requests for information, analysis, and insights

Support all department projects as assigned and management request for information, analysis, and insights Compensation Range

$74,000-$84,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

Skills & Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

Strong negotiations, procurement, and conflict resolution skills required

Demonstrated ability to coordinate and drive actions with cross-functional groups required

Proficient PC skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, database management systems required

Working knowledge of contract management practices, tracking and managing data, contracts, and timelines required

Ability to manage multiple priorities and to adjust to meet business needs, project management, and preparing executive summary reports required

Individual must be a self-starter with ability to work with limited direction, initiator, and management skills required Education & Experience

Associates Degree Required

Bachelors Degree Preferred

5 - 8 Years of Direct Experience in Automotive Logistics, Contract Negotiations, and/or Project Management Required

6 - 9 Years of Experience Preferred

Experience in Supply Chain Management Preferred

Certificate/License Related to the Auto Industry or Logistics, Transportation, DOT Regulations Physical Requirements

Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods

Repetitive use of hand/grasping product, writing, and typing
