N. Wasserstrom, an industry leader in food service equipment manufacturing since 1902, currently has an Internship Program opportunity in our Columbus, Ohio manufacturing operation! This position will focus on providing hands-on experience in TIG welding, including equipment operation, safety protocols, and blueprint reading. Interns will refine their skills while working closely with experienced welders in a professional setting.

Overview:

An internship is available for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in the metal fabrication and welding industry, with a primary focus on TIG welding. Interns will have the opportunity to work with TIG welding techniques, learning to operate and maintain essential welding equipment. They will also receive training in safety protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards. Interns will develop skills in reading blueprints and interpreting welding symbols, all while collaborating with experienced welders to refine their technique. This internship provides valuable on-the-job training and a strong foundation for a career in welding.

Key Responsibilities:

TIG and MIG weld metal components together

Prepare parts for builders

Work with build documents and basic drawings

Maintain a clean and organized workspace/shop

Clean finished products

Deburr and silicon materials

Peel paper

Skills and Requirements:

Knowledge of proper welding techniques, such as TIG and MIG welding

Mechanically inclined; ability to work with shop machinery and basic hand tools

Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16th of an inch

Ability to add and subtract fractions

Communicates well with others; asks for and offers help when needed

Detail oriented; meets quality standards and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness

Organized; completes work in a timely manner; able to prioritize and meet deadlines

Problem-solver; gathers and analyzes information skillfully and generates suggestions for improving work

Capable of working independently and as a member of a team; contributes to building a positive team spirit

Observes and follows safety procedures
