Design Engineer (Senior)

Job Description

EXTERNAL DESCRIPTION

The Engineer will design pre-engineered steel structures (metal building systems) utilizing Metal Building Software (MBS) and supplementary tools. Seeking self-motivated, detail-oriented, and team mentality individuals. Licensure as a professional engineer (PE) is preferred, with the ability/desire to obtain additional licenses throughout the United States.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Design safe and efficient structures for clients

Communicate design plans clearly and accurately

Respond to field questions with efficient solutions

Contribute to team success with specific area of expertise

Required Skills/Abilities:

Thorough understanding of MBS software, design codes, principles, and practices

Metal building design competency

Solutions minded approach to project challenges

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering required.

Functional knowledge of building codes

Steel design proficiency metal building systems requiring significant coordination with other trades

Licensure as a professional engineer (PE) is preferred, with the ability/desire to obtain additional licenses throughout the United States.

Creative - Seeks to provide solutions and influences others around them to improve

Experience in metal building design - specifically with MBS software

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Continually utilize visual acuity to read technical information, and/or use a keyboard

Occasionally required to lift and carry items up to 25 pound

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Pay Details: $100,000.00 to $130,000.00 per year
