Education

Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred. Computer Science or Software Engineering preferred.

Required Experience

3 years of professional and technical experience as a Data Analyst, Data Engineer, or related role in data analytics, reporting, and visualization.

3 years of experience designing, developing, implementing, troubleshooting, and/or enhancing data analytics and visualization from concept through to production for complex datasets.

Basic Knowledge of cloud computing platforms similar to Amazon Web Services, Azure or equivalent.

Proficiency in programming languages.

Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and data modeling.

Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Data visualization skills (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).

Version control system experience.

Data pipeline and orchestration experience.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities:

SANCORP is seeking a Data Engineer Level II to provide administrative, policy, operational, and analytic, support to the Strategy Coordination Program Office within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Intelligence and Security (OUSD(I&S)). The following are examples of responsibilities:

Prepare data for cleaning and preparation, filter data, handling missing values, and prepare datasets for analysis to ensure accuracy and relevance.

Use statistical tools and techniques to explore and analyze data, identifying patterns, relationships, and trends.

Create visual representations of data findings through charts, graphs, and dashboards to make the data understandable at a glance.

Prepare reports and presentations to communicate the insights and findings from the data to stakeholders, which can influence policy and decision-making processes.

Work with other departments to understand their data needs and help them make informed decisions based on data insights.
