Intro
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our finance team at our corporate office in Hopewell Township.
The ideal candidate will support various accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger accounting, and ad-hoc research/reporting.
The Accounting Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining efficient financial operations.
What will you do
Verify accounts by reconciling monthly statements.
First level approval of expense reports.
Maintain areas of the general ledger by recording transactions and reconciling discrepancies.
Ad-hoc research and reporting.
Work with customer A/R portals and vendor A/P portals.
Assist in month-end closing activities.
Post cash receipts daily through internal business system and banking portals.
Assist with accounts payable processes, including invoice verification and payment processing.
Ensure compliance with GAAP standards in all accounting practices.
Utilize accounting software to manage financial data efficiently.
Prepare and complete daily/weekly bank deposits.
Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
What do we expect
At least 3-5 years of relevant experience and/or accounting degree is required.
Familiarity with banking portals.
Knowledge of GAAP standards.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong analytical skills to identify discrepancies and resolve issues effectively.
Proficiency in math calculations and bookkeeping.
Understand and effectively use Excel spreadsheets, Word and other basic software programs.
