The Wireless RAN team is a small group of technical team players within the GTA Operations department working together to provide the very best service and support to our wireless customers.

The RF Engineer plays a key role in designing, optimizing, and analyzing wireless radio access networks across UMTS, LTE, and 5G platforms. This role is critical to maintaining and enhancing wireless network performance, ensuring quality service to our customers. The engineer will utilize RF tools and principles to monitor KPIs, conduct traffic and interference analyses, and optimize network parameters. Responsibilities also include RF planning, audits, and field verification, as well as coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to support continuous improvement of the network. The RF Engineer reports directly to the Wireless Engineering Manager.

Performs daily traffic analysis on both UMTS, LTE,and 5G sites to ensure baseline capacity needs are met the key performance indicators (KPI).

Analyze RAN data to recommend optimal changes to RAN network to improve all key indexes and performance indicators.

Manage, develop and coordinate database structures including quality analysis and coverage for UMTS, LTE and 5G on wireless platforms using coverage maps, TEMS Investigation, TEMS Discovery and RF propagation model tuning tools using Planet.

Performs interference scanning and analysis using Spectrum Analyzer

Optimizing new cell sites, small cells, and DAS systems into existing network.

Performs site audit to verify planned configurations versus actual configurations

Performs network parameter audit not being limited to neighbor relations, golden parameters, licenses and features activations.

Testing for new network features such as 256 QAM, 4x4MIMO and Carrier Aggregation

Performs site survey and site selection for new site plans

Have a knowledge of Alcatel Lucent Tools such as WMS, WPS and PNM, and for Ericsson such as AMOS/Moshell

Advance computer skills in MS Office and Auto CAD

Perform other duties as assigned.

Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Has the ability to assess an issue, provide creative solutions, and analyze if the solution was viable.

Organizational support: Ability to follow company policies and procedures in accordance with contract/agreement(s) and Company Goals, completes administrative tasks thoroughly, accurately, promptly, and efficiently as possible with respect to human resources, financial management and profitability.

Technical skills: Constantly strives to increase technical knowledge to improve training tools through latest product knowledge, industry knowledge, and research.

Growth and Learning: Is curious and understands that learning is a lifelong endeavor. You own your learning and development, and you are committed to evolving.

This is what you need to have:

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Communications Engineering or a related field is preferred

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with wireless RAN deployment, including design, implementation, and optimization

Commitment to regular, punctual, and consistent attendance

Must be flexible and available to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to support business operations and project timelines

Must possess a valid driver’s license and have the ability to travel between work sites as required.
