Managing Director, Corporate Banking

Job Description

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Managing Director, Corporate Banking to join our team. This position will provide the leadership and expertise necessary to develop, grow, and maintain a Commercial Sales Team focused on executing a sales strategy targeting commercial entities within the assigned range.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage and lead the revenue generation and contribution activities for the assigned group, including development of sales goals, incentive programs, and execution of market coverage objectives.

Develop and implement a staffing and talent development plan in alignment with corporate objectives, including recruiting strategies and development plans for all team members.

Actively participate in Corporate and Executive Loan Committees, providing direction and advocacy for submissions.

Lead the development of the group's strategic and tactical plans and programs.

In order to be successful in this position, we require the following:

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.

A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant commercial banking or related experience.

The following would be a plus:

Master's degree in business administration (MBA)

Credit training

Commercial banking experience
