Here at Associated British Ports, we are currently recruiting for a Finance Data Analyst within ABP’s Finance Shared Services (FSS) team in Port Business Services (PBS), based in Hull.
Fixed term contract for one year.
The role of a Finance Data Analyst will be responsible for involvement in the detailed day to day data handling and analysis carried out within the PBS Finance Operational teams. This individual will be responsible for improving the data flows and ways of working, reducing manual data hand-offs, minimising dual keying/reproduction of data across systems and teams and streamlining reporting outputs.
In addition, this role will support in the production of PBS reporting requirements.
Accountable:
Produce the monthly/ad hoc KPI/SLA reporting for PBS
Preparing reports and presenting these to the leadership; describing trends and changes etc
Collect, analyse, and interpret financial data from various sources
Organising and transforming data within PBS into support business processes
Identifying, recommending and implementing new ways to integrate data across business processes to save time and manual input
Communicating with stakeholders to understand data content and business requirements
Essential:
Proven experience as a Data Analyst or similar role.
Analysis and synthesis of data
Data management
Programming skills (examples sql, python, java script code writing skills)
Data visualisation
Business process improvement
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Ideal:
