We are seeking Power System Technicians and Protection & Control Technicians to join our team for exciting opportunities across Western Canada, focusing on projects in British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. These positions offer a unique chance to work on the commissioning and maintenance of medium to high voltage systems in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain an unwavering commitment to safety and quality standards at all times.
Commission, maintain, service, and repair electrical distribution equipment at various voltage levels (medium to high voltage).
Perform tasks including but not limited to 5kV+ cable terminations and testing, protection and control schemes, and relay and tele protection/SCADA integrations.
Work with SF6 gas, oil processing, transformers, protective relays, cabling, switchgear, circuit breakers, motor control centers, and motors.
Participate in ILP investigations, HAZOPS, and Job Safety Analysis to ensure a safe working environment.
Prepare and issue detailed technical reports, including recommendations for improvement or repair.
Identify and propose value-add opportunities for clients, such as system repairs or upgrades.
Provide mentorship and support to junior team members.
Qualifications:
Certification as an Electrical Engineering Technologist, Electrical Engineer, Power Systems Electrician, or Journeyman Electrician.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Electrical Commissioning and Maintenance.
Strong working knowledge of testing apparatus for acceptance and maintenance testing.
Familiarity with Protection and Control systems and relay testing.
Experience with Management of Change (MOC) processes.
Registration with an applicable Professional Association in good standing is considered an asset.
Utility experience is an asset.
Experience in Project Management or team leadership is considered an asset.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure while adhering to tight deadlines.
Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
