Product Engineer

Job Description

Now Hiring for a Product Engineer in Azusa, CA - 11 Month Contract Role - $59/hour

This is an 11-month temporary position. We are looking for a fast-response, proactive, and self-directed individual to join our engineering organization. The candidate should have a proven record of achieving results, be a leader and hands-on collaborator, and have excellent communication skills. We want a professional who is an influencer, keeps a cheerful outlook, and excels at adapting to the organization's needs.

Must have Root Cause Analysis, Injection Molding Experience, and be able to support a high volume manufacturing company.

Position Responsibilities:

Provide daily technical support and leadership to designated product lines, including hands-on root cause analysis, problem-solving, and long-term strategic direction for the product

Collaborate dynamically with engineering, operations, materials, quality, suppliers, and marketing staff to implement significant improvements in product quality

Conceive, justify, and plan solutions for complex problems. Implement engineering design changes that improve product function, reduce costs, reduce defects, and improve manufacturing efficiency

Design, develop, and comply with testing procedures

Create and revise product models, drawings, and BOM's

Minimum Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience (3-5 years) in achieving results in areas of responsibility as described above.

Working knowledge of CAD/CAE engineering tools (SolidWorks preferred)

Working knowledge of tolerance stack-up analysis and GD&T

Experience in low-cost, high-volume, low-defect manufacturing

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

Working knowledge of injection molded plastic component design

Working knowledge of SPC, FMEA, DOE, and other quality improvement tools

Basic knowledge of Industrial Engineering (line balanced, ergonomics, safety)

Ability to perform financial analysis and cost justifications

Knowledge of FEA and CFD
